Description

A camping stove this size disappears into a corner of your pack and then boils your water in the time it takes to set up a tent. The burner folds down to roughly the size of a fist, the pot supports swing out to hold a real pot, and the piezo igniter means you are not hunting for a lighter in the wind.

Screws onto the canister and lights itself

This camping stove is a canister-top burner: it threads directly onto a standard screw-type butane/propane canister, the kind shown in the product photos, and the canister becomes the base. Nothing to assemble, no fuel line, no pump. Open the valve, press the piezo button, and you have a flame. Turn the brass knob and you can run it from a hard boil down to a simmer.

Features

  • Built-in piezo ignition — the supplier lists the ignition device as included, so no lighter or matches needed to start it.
  • Three folding pot supports — serrated arms that swing out to hold a pot and fold flat against the body for storage.
  • Aluminum alloy body — the material the supplier lists, which is what keeps a burner this size light.
  • Adjustable brass valve — the fold-out wire handle lets you go from full boil to simmer without burning your fingers.
  • Recessed burner head — the flame sits down inside the ring rather than out in the open, which is what the wind-resistant claim refers to.
  • Standard canister thread — fits the threaded butane/propane mix canisters sold at any outdoor shop in the U.S.
  • Two colors — Orange or Black.

The supplier does not publish a weight, a packed size or a BTU output for this camping stove, so we are not quoting one. We would rather leave a row empty than invent a figure you would measure the day it arrives.

Camping stove with three folding pot supports, piezo ignition button and adjustable brass valve, orange finish

Orange or Black

The two are the same camping stove with a different finish on the valve collar and burner sleeve, and they are priced differently only because the supplier prices them differently. Orange is the easier one to find when you set it down on gravel at dusk, which is a small thing until the one time it matters. Black hides soot better over a season.

Where a camping stove like this fits

Backpacking, bikepacking, a truck camp where you only need coffee and noodles, a car kit for storm season, a base for a fishing trip. It is a boil-water stove more than a cooking stove: it excels at hot drinks, freeze-dried meals, instant noodles and reheating, and it is less suited to a large pan or anything that needs even heat across a wide base. Before you light it anywhere on public land, check current fire restrictions — canister stoves are often still permitted when open fires are banned, but that is a local call, and the National Park Service fire pages are a sensible place to start.

Care and maintenance

Let the camping stove cool completely before you fold the pot supports, or you will warp the arms and burn your hand. Unscrew it from the canister after every trip rather than storing it attached, which slowly deforms the valve seal. Keep the burner ports clear — a soft brush is enough, and never a pin, because widening a port changes the flame. If the piezo stops sparking, check that the electrode is still aimed at the burner ring before you assume it has failed; it usually just needs bending back a millimetre. Store it dry.

Safety, briefly

Never run this camping stove, or any canister stove, inside a tent, a vestibule or a closed vehicle. Burning gas produces carbon monoxide, and the volume of a tent is small enough for that to matter. Use it on a level surface, keep the canister upright, and stay with it while it is lit.

Frequently asked questions

Is fuel included?
No. Gas canisters cannot be shipped by air, so no online seller ships them with the stove. Buy the canister locally — any threaded butane/propane mix canister fits.

Does it come with a case?
The supplier’s photos show the stove inside a hard plastic case, but the packing list we have does not name it. Order on the basis of the stove alone and treat the case as a bonus if it arrives.

Will it work in the cold?
Butane loses pressure as temperatures drop. A butane/propane mix canister performs better in cold than pure butane, and keeping the canister in your jacket before use helps. Well below freezing, a liquid-fuel stove is the right tool.

How big a pot can I use?
The three folding supports hold a standard backpacking pot or kettle comfortably. A wide frying pan will sit high and unstable on a burner this size — that is true of every canister-top camping stove, not just this one.

Can I use this camping stove at home in an emergency?
Yes, outdoors or in a well-ventilated open space, never indoors. Plenty of people keep one in a storm kit for exactly that reason.

What else should I look at?
Cookware and lighting sit alongside this in the same kit. Browse the full shop or start from the categories.
