Anyone who has cooked over a wood fire knows the small burn holes that appear across the front of a cotton apron by the end of a season. Polyester behaves differently — an ember that lands on it does not find loose fibres to climb. The same fabric also refuses to absorb fat the way cotton canvas does, so the bacon grease that ends the life of most camp aprons wipes off this one instead of setting into it.

Care and maintenance

Machine wash cold with similar colours and hang to dry — polyester dries quickly and high dryer heat does the print no favours. Treat grease spots before they set with a drop of dish soap rubbed in and rinsed. Do not iron over the printed area, and never bleach it. Untie rather than pulling the apron over your head with the ties fastened; that is what eventually tears the twill.

Frequently asked questions

Does one size actually fit most people?
Yes. The neck strap is button-adjustable rather than fixed, and the waist ties are long enough to wrap to the front on a smaller frame or tie at the back on a larger one.

Will it survive an ember from the fire?
Polyester does not catch and spread the way loose cotton fibres do, but no apron is fireproof. Treat it as splash and spark protection, not as protective clothing.

Are there pockets?
No. The front is deliberately clean, which is what keeps the wordmark readable and stops grease collecting in a pocket seam.

Can I put it in a hot wash to get grease out?
Use cold water and treat the spot first. Hot water sets fat into polyester rather than lifting it, and it is harder on the print.

Is the design printed on both sides?
The front carries the wordmark. The back of the apron is the same solid black.
