Description
The full zip hoodie that does what a mid-layer is supposed to do: opens when you are working, closes when you stop. Ten ounces of heavyweight fleece, a silver metal zip that runs the whole way down, and the MAXELTI ACTIVE mark on the left chest. No drawcord to catch on branches, no hood strings to chew through a pack strap.
You take a full zip off without taking your hat off
That sounds small until you are on a ridge with a hat, sunglasses and a pack on, and the sun finally hits. A pullover means stripping the lot. A full zip means one pull and you are venting. The same goes for temperature control on the move: half-open regulates heat far better than deciding between fully on and fully off. This is why guides and anyone who works outdoors tends to own more zips than pullovers.
Features
- Full-length silver metal zip — a real metal slider with a double-welt finish that hides the zip tape for a clean front.
- Left chest mark — MAXELTI ACTIVE printed 3.5 inches wide on the left chest, the placement a full zip is built for: the zip runs down the centre, so a chest mark sits to one side where nothing cuts through it.
- Printed inside label — the brand mark, size and care symbols printed straight into the neck, so there is no tag to scratch.
- 10 oz heavyweight fleece — 65% Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton with 35% polyester, structured enough to resist creasing.
- No drawcord — nothing to snag, nothing to lose in the wash.
- Side-seamed relaxed cut — holds its shape instead of twisting after a few washes.

Choosing your colour and size
Navy is the default here: the white and orange print reads cleanly on it and it does not show dust the way black does on a dirt road. Asphalt is the most neutral and hides wear best. Black is the sharpest if the hoodie is doing double duty in town. The cut is relaxed but not oversized — take your normal size. If you plan to layer a thick mid-layer underneath, go up one.
Where it fits
This is the layer that lives in the truck. Cool morning at the launch, warm by mid-morning, cold again once the sun drops — the zip handles all three without a change of clothes. It also works as the outer layer on dry days and slides under a rain shell when it does not. If you already own the MAXELTI Active crewneck, this is the version for days you expect to be moving.
Care and maintenance
Zip it closed before washing — an open metal zip chews through whatever it tumbles against. Cold wash inside out, low tumble dry or hang. Do not iron over the chest print or the inside label. Skip fabric softener, which flattens fleece loft and dulls print colour over time.
Frequently asked questions
Where exactly does the logo sit?
On the left chest, 3.5 inches wide. That is the standard placement for a full zip: the zip runs down the centre of the garment, so anything printed in the middle would be cut in half by it.
Is it printed or embroidered?
Printed, using DTF film. Nothing on this garment is embroidered, so the technique is consistent across every mark.
Is there really no drawcord?
Correct. The hood is lined but has no cord, which is deliberate: cords snag on branches and pack straps, and they are the first thing to disappear in the wash.
Will the print crack?
DTF film is flexible and bonds into the fabric rather than sitting on top of it. Cold washing inside out and avoiding high dryer heat is what keeps it intact.
What is the inside label?
The brand mark, the size and the care symbols, printed directly into the neck of the garment. The original manufacturer tag has been torn away.
How long does delivery take?
Your order ships within 2–5 business days and arrives 3–4 business days later. Shipping within the US is free, and tracking is emailed as soon as it ships.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email support@maxeltiactive.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. If it arrived damaged or defective, we send a free replacement or a full refund, and you don’t need to send it back.
How do I dress for changing conditions outdoors?
Layering beats one heavy garment every time. The National Park Service guidance on preparing for the outdoors covers planning for weather that turns, which is exactly what a full zip mid-layer is for.
