Instant tents usually mean a single wall and no porch. This one is double layered: the pop-up inner tent goes up first with its pre-attached hub poles, then the rainfly goes over it and the pre-bent lobby pole lifts the vestibule. You get the speed of a pop-up with the weather protection and living space of a traditional cabin tent, which matters when it rains on day two and everyone is inside.

Pitching the tent

Lay the inner tent flat with the door where you want it, lift the hub at the top until the frame snaps open, and stake the corners. Throw the rainfly over the frame and fasten it with the buckles at the corners. Insert the pre-bent lobby pole to raise the vestibule, stake its front edge, and tension the guy lines. The first setup of any cabin tent takes longer, so practice once in the yard before the trip.

Care and storage

Dry the cabin tent completely before storing it; packing it wet for more than a day invites mildew. Brush off dirt, clean the fabric with a sponge and mild soap, and never machine-wash it. Fold the hub frame carefully in the direction it was designed to close, and keep the stakes in their bag so they cannot tear the fabric.
