Description
The Night Cat camping cot gets you off cold, lumpy ground without the bulk of an old army cot. It is 87 inches long and 32 inches wide, which is 12.5 percent wider than the standard 28-inch version, stands on 16 aluminum legs and is rated for 330 pounds. The whole cot weighs 8.8 pounds and folds into its own carry bag.
Why sleeping off the ground changes the night
The ground pulls heat from your body all night, and every rock and root finds your back. A cot solves both problems at once: air under the bed instead of cold soil, and a taut, flat surface instead of a slope. The extra width on this model gives room to roll onto your side without your shoulder hanging over the edge, which is the complaint most people have about narrow cots.
Features
- 32 inches wide. More room to turn over than a standard 28-inch cot.
- 16 aluminum legs. Spread the load along the frame, with anti-slip feet on each leg.
- 330 lb capacity. The supplier rates it for up to 330 pounds (150 kg).
- Two height modes. High mode for the open air and more storage underneath, low mode to fit inside tents with sloping walls.
- Lever-lock setup. The side poles lock into the legs with levers, no tools needed.
- Ripstop Oxford fabric. A taut bed surface that resists tearing.

Where this camping cot fits
Car camping, hunting camps, cabins without enough beds, festival sites and the guest who shows up for the weekend. Use high mode under the open sky or a tarp, and switch to low mode inside a tent so the cot clears the sloping walls. On cold nights, add a sleeping pad on top of the cot: air moving underneath keeps you off the ground but also cools the fabric. Before you go, read the Leave No Trace principles for choosing and leaving a campsite.
For a bug-free bed, strap our Night Cat pop-up mosquito tent on top of this camping cot, and find more sleep gear in our camping collection.
Setting up the cot
Unroll the fabric, slide the two side poles through the sleeves, then fit the legs one by one and press each lever until it locks. The last legs take the most force because the fabric is under tension; stand on the side pole or ask for a hand. Choose high or low mode before you start. To pack up, release the levers in reverse order and roll the camping cot into its bag. After the first night the fabric relaxes slightly and setup gets easier.
Care and storage
Wipe the fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap and let it dry before folding. Keep sand out of the lever joints, and give them a quick rinse and dry after beach trips. Store the camping cot in its bag in a dry place, and check the feet before each trip so the anti-slip caps are in place.
