Night Cat Lay Flat Hammock

Description

The Night Cat lay flat hammock fixes the one thing people dislike about hammock camping: sleeping bent like a banana. Spreader poles hold the bed open into a flat surface 220 cm long, so you can lie on your back or your side the way you do at home, while you stay off wet ground, roots and rocks. A mosquito net closes over the top, a rainfly covers it, and a second hammock hangs underneath to keep your backpack off the ground.

Sleep flat, off the ground, and out of the bugs

Most camping hammocks leave you choosing between a comfortable night and a dry, bug-free one. Here the flat bed, the net and the rainfly come in the same bag and set up between two trees. When the weather is good, you can take the rainfly off and sleep under the open net. When it rains, the rainfly goes back on and the storage deck keeps your gear dry and within reach.

Features

• Flat sleeping surface. Spreader poles keep the bed open at 220 x 70 cm, long enough for people up to 200 cm tall.
• Built-in mosquito net. Closes over the whole bed so you can sleep without insects.
• Waterproof rainfly. Pitches over the hammock for rain, or as a sun shelter on its own.
• Three setups. Covered hammock for bad weather, sun or rain shelter, and open-air hammock for clear nights.
• Storage hammock underneath. A second deck below the bed for a backpack, boots or a small dog.
• Complete kit. Tree straps, carabiners, poles, stakes and a carry bag are included.

Where this lay flat hammock fits

It is at home anywhere there are two healthy trees and the ground is uneven, wet or rocky: forest campsites, river banks, hunting stands and backpacking routes where a tent pad is hard to find. It also makes a good backyard nap spot with the net up on summer evenings. Choose trees at least 6 inches thick, hang at a height you can sit into, and use the wide straps rather than rope to protect the bark. The Leave No Trace principles are a good checklist for picking a spot.

At 7.7 pounds, this lay flat hammock is heavier than a simple sling, so it suits car camping and short hikes better than ultralight trips. Find more shelters and sleep gear in our camping collection.

Care and storage

Shake out leaves and dirt before packing, and if you pack up wet, open the bag within a day and let every part dry completely to prevent mildew. Wipe the fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap rather than using a washing machine. Check the straps and carabiners before each trip, and store the kit in its bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Frequently asked questions
