A regular tent has to be pitched on the ground. This one does not. Before your first trip

Open and fold the mosquito tent a couple of times at home before you leave. The spring frame is easy once you have seen the figure-eight twist, and practicing on the lawn saves you from learning it in the dark. Check that the zipper runs smoothly, stake the corners if there is any wind, and remember that the tent is a screen, not a rain shelter. On a cot, fasten both connecting straps so the tent does not slide when you turn over.

Care and storage

Shake out sand and leaves before folding, and let the mesh dry completely before you pack it after dew or rain. Hold the frame firmly while folding: it is spring-loaded and will try to open. Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, and store it in its bag away from sharp objects that could snag the mesh.
