Description
This fishing rod and reel combo is the kit for someone who wants to fish without owning a car full of gear. The rod collapses to between 39 and 44 cm depending on the length you pick, the reel is already matched to it, and the whole thing goes in a backpack, a trunk or an overhead bin.
Six sizes, one decision to make
The fishing rod and reel combo comes in six lengths from 1.8 m to 3.6 m, and the reel scales with the rod: the two shortest come with a YO1000, the middle pair with a YO3000, and the two longest with a YO5000. That means you are not guessing at balance. Pick the length for the water you fish and the reel is already the right size for it.
Features
- Telescopic carbon fiber blank — carbon fiber and alloy, 6 to 11 sections depending on length, collapsing to 39–44 cm.
- Reel included and matched — YO1000, YO3000 or YO5000, all with a 5.2:1 gear ratio, chosen by the supplier to balance the rod it ships with.
- Max drag 3, 5 or 8 kg — scaled to the reel size, so the bigger the rod, the more fish it will hold.
- Lure weight 7–28 g — the working range for spinners, small jigs, spoons and float rigs.
- Rated 14–20 lb line — the supplier’s stated fishing power, 6.35 to 9.07 kg.
- 111 to 275 g of rod — light enough to hold all afternoon, even at the long end.
- Padded grip — the handle has a pad rather than bare alloy, which matters after an hour of casting.

Which length and reel to choose
Every fishing rod and reel combo here is the same build; only the size changes. Short rods cast under trees and load fast; long rods reach further and hold line clear of rocks. In practice:
- 1.8 m and 2.1 m · YO1000 — small streams, jetties, kayak and float tube, packing light. 3 kg of drag, panfish to modest bass and trout.
- 2.4 m and 2.7 m · YO3000 — the all-rounder. Lake shore, river bank, pond, general boat fishing. 5 kg of drag covers most freshwater and light inshore work.
- 3.0 m and 3.6 m · YO5000 — surf, rock ledges, piers, anywhere you need distance. 8 kg of drag and the heaviest line capacity of the three.
If you already own reels and only want a blank, this is not the product for you — the reel is part of the package and the price reflects it. This fishing rod and reel combo is aimed at the buyer who wants to be fishing the day the box arrives.
Where a fishing rod and reel combo like this fits
The supplier lists ocean boat, ocean rock and ocean beach fishing alongside lakes, rivers, reservoirs, ponds, streams and managed waters, and the six-size spread is what makes that range possible. It is also the rod that travels: closed at 39–44 cm it fits a daypack, so it ends up in the car for the trip where fishing was not the plan. Before you go, check the rules where you are fishing — the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service lists fishing access and regulations across hundreds of federal refuges, and every state runs its own licensing on top of that.
Care and maintenance
A telescopic fishing rod and reel combo fails in one predictable way: grit in the joints. Rinse the rod in fresh water after salt or sand, then extend it fully and let it dry before collapsing it. When you close it, push each section straight in without twisting. If a section sticks, do not force it — twist gently while pulling, and never pull on the guides. Back the drag off to zero when you store the reel so the washers do not take a set, and give the bail arm a drop of light oil once a season.
Frequently asked questions
Does the fishing rod and reel combo include the reel?
Yes. Every option is one rod plus one reel, matched by the supplier. The size you choose sets both.
Is line included?
No. The package is one rod and one reel. Spool it with line rated in the 14–20 lb range and you will be inside the rod’s stated power.
Can I use it in salt water?
The supplier lists ocean boat, rock and beach fishing among its uses. Rinse everything in fresh water afterwards — that habit is what decides whether a reel lasts one season or five.
Which one should I buy if I am starting out?
2.4 m or 2.7 m with the YO3000. It handles bank, pond and boat, and it is the size you will keep using after you own three rods.
How small does it pack?
Between 39 cm and 44 cm closed, depending on the length you order. All six fit a standard daypack.

Perfect quality. working good
Alright, after extension, top on refuses to go back, reel is good a bit small, rod had some shoddy workmanship.
Looks a good rod for the money. will be great for a gift for my little boy who’s just getting into fishing. it compacts really small. really good first rod. not sure it would handle anything big but tiddler bashing will be ideal. can’t wait to put it to the test. the boy will love it for sure.
1.8-3.6 carbon fiber, we’ll see after the test, it seems to be good.
The 6000 reel is heavy and the fishing rod folds up small, making it easy to carry around.
