How to use your enamel camp mug at camp

Heat the water in a kettle or a pot on the stove or the fire, then pour it into the mug. Do not set the mug directly on a burner, a grill or hot coals: the printed enamel coating is made for hot drinks, not for direct heat.

Metal carries heat, so a freshly filled mug warms up fast. Hold it by the handle for the first few minutes, and let soup or cocoa cool a little before the first sip.

Care and maintenance

Hand wash the enamel camp mug with warm water and a soft sponge. It is not dishwasher safe and not microwave safe. Enamel has a slightly porous surface, so coffee, tea and juice can leave stains over time; a little lemon juice or baking soda on a soft sponge brings the white back. Dry it before you pack it away.
